Alright, we will be continuing along this week with our progress on the Collage unit, with a small, exam-related detour this morning. Today’s post is going to be short, but here is the main idea:

Didn’t finish up last Friday’s quests? You owe 30 extra minutes of time to make up for being behind. You can do this during a study hall or lunch, but not during a regular class. You know who you are, but if you can’t remember, I will let you know tomorrow.
Discuss with a partner- Why do we need to learn/talk about copyright? What is the purpose of copyright? Together, write your answers to these questions on a piece of paper and turn it in to me.
*To give yourself the 30 XP here, you should be starting to have an understanding of why we are learning about copyright. At that point, you will be considered a “Journeyman” on this topic and will start being subjected to random “checks for understanding.” (30 XP)*

Today we will be beginning our work into the Collage project that we will be working on over the next few weeks. Our quests today will center around digital photography and some of the principles that can help us take better photos. I will be charging camera batteries in the front of the class so that you can spend some time playing around with these new principles with a camera.

Happy Wednesday! We are finally reaching the point where you are going to separate yourselves a little more, based on how much time you feel you need to learn these topics and to give your best work on our quests. Therefore, I understand if you are still working on yesterday’s photography principles and tips, as long as it is because you are trying to get a lot of valuable information together. However, if you’re still working on yesterday’s quest because you spent too much time socializing, searching elsewhere on the internet, or playing games, you are falling into that “D: What Are You Doing?” category of our new grading scale. Keep that in mind.
Today we will continue on with some of the quests that we had originally included yesterday, as well as some new ones for today. Please take the time to actually try to learn something from these quests, instead of just “going through the motions” to get them done. Keep tracking your XP as you’re completing these things, too.

Today in class we will spend some time talking together a little more about design elements & design principles before you all spend some time working on your own on the other quests for today or any quests you have to finish up.

Today you will finish up our notes that we discussed yesterday on design principles. Try to continue those practices of note taking we talked about some yesterday. Try cutting out those words that you don’t need to understand the topic. Make sure as you are looking up these principles, you are taking some time to really try to understand them, since they are important to creating good designs. After you finish up on those principles, turn that into me and move on to the rest of today’s quests.
